Things to DoWhen you step into the Harrison House, White
Sulphur Springs' main facility, you feel as if you've just come home. So prop
up your feet and enjoy yourself!
Bowling
First, let's visit our own one-hundred-year-old bowling alley. You can bowl while your friend sets up the pins and rolls the ball back to you.
Notice while you are there
that this was also the site of the Sulphur Springs Post Office at the turn of
the twentieth century. The letter slot is still visible as you enter.
Explore the area
Bedford County has
many other historic sites in the area besides the WSS Bowling Alley, as well as
plenty of shops and places to go "antiqueing". The town of Bedford, only 15
minutes away, has plenty of attractions.
Old Bedford Village is a replica of the pioneer days of Bedford and Fort Bedford is a Revolutionary War fort and museum. Also, we are only an hour and a half from Gettysburg National Battlefield.
Hiking
When you get back from your trip into town, grab a trail map at the front desk. Explore our 1000 acres of hills, fields, streams, ponds, trails, barns and trees - all in the peaceful outdoors.
Fish and Canoe
Our three ponds
are stocked with fish just big enough to put a grin on junior's face. While you
are at it, grab a canoe or "fun-yak" and paddle around. Or do both
simultaneously.
Skiing
In the winter, you are within an hour or so of three ski area: Blue Knob, Hidden Valley, and Seven Springs.
Horses
Our horses are here year-round. We schedule trail rides during our Winter Retreat, Summer Family Camp, Camp Caleb, and specific OCF weekend group retreats.
Sports
Try your hand at one of our many sport activities: horseshoes, volleyball, frisbee-golf, ping-pong, basketball, softball, soccer, or ice skating and sledding (winter). There are also four golf courses within twenty to thirty minutes.
Of course, you could always pull up a rocker on the wrap around porch.
Take time to listen and hear from God away from your hectic schedule.
Come join us at White Sulphur Springs!
